Youth Cooking Class
We had our first successful youth cooking class on Saturday, March 5th, 2023 in Falls Church, Virginia.
The class was led by Chef Beth Yohanes, founder and owner of Lemon Slice Cafe in Silver Spring, MD.
One of ECSAC's goals is to help promote health and well-being in the Ethiopian community through nutrition education and cooking lessons that encourage healthy habits and reduce the risk of chronic illness.
As food plays a vital role in Ethiopian culture and daily life, ECSAC organized this event to provide the Ethiopian diaspora with an opportunity to reconnect with their cultural heritage through interactive experiences.
During our class, we focused on making a western healthy dish from scratch while incorporating Ethiopian ingredients and spices.
We had a great time cooking together. Thank you to our volunteers and to everyone who attended!
